Here at Sound/z/ of Hope our sole purpose is to empower each individual with the confidence to communicate in a way that is tailored to their needs. We pride ourselves in motivating and encouraging all modes of communication.

Jamia is originally from New Jersey and relocated to the south in 2010, where  she was enrolled at High Point University in High Point, NC. She later earned her B.A. in Special Education and graduated from High Point University in 2014. Jamia taught as a lead teacher at an institute for 5 years. She decided to advance her education and earned a Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from South Carolina State University in 2019. Since then, Jamia has worked in the pediatric setting; specifically as a hands on therapist engaging with speech, language and feeding therapy.

Jamia has a prominent education background demonstrated by nurturing learning environments, while exercising practices. Her success as a speech pathologist is contributed to her education background due to the overlapping of each’s scope of practice.  Jamia is known for her patient and dedicated stance when engaging with her clients. Jamia is an advocate for her clients and brings forth successful opportunities each therapy session. She has experience working with speech/language, feeding and AAC clients. She has the natural ability to build professional relationships with her clients and parents/guardians while collaborating alongside colleagues.
